New York West Side Neighbourhood coming to Torrevieja
The Torrevieja Costa Lions Club are delighted to announce that the Footlights Youth Theatre Group are to perform the Leonard Bernstein/Stephen Sondheim musical West Side Story, in Teatro Municipal, Torrrevieja on Saturday 22nd February 2014 at 2000 hrs. Tickets priced very reasonably at only 12.00 Euros can be purchased from the Box Office in the Plaza at the front of the Teatro Municipal . West Side Story, one of the many classic musicals of that era, is set in the area West Side Of New York City. Inspired by Shakespeares’ Romeo and Juliet, it tells the story of New York rival street gangs the Jets and the Sharks. The story evolves when Tony, a member of the Jets falls in love with Maria the sister of the leader of the Sharks. There are many timeless classics in the musical score with songs such as “Maria”, “America”, “Somewhere”and “I Feel Pretty” to name but a few.
All profits from this performance will be donated by the Lions to Reach Out in Torrevieja who provide an excellent support facility for the needy and homeless people of Torrevieja.
