What a great week of live sport we have to look forward to! The Europa League Final on Wednesday at 8.45pm kicks off a list of cup finals – The FA Cup final on Saturday at 6.30 pm being the big one for many. We also have the Scottish Cup Final live at 4.00 pm on Saturday, the German Cup Final at 8pm and the Spanish Copa del Rey final between Bilbao and Barcelona at 9.30pm.
Also on Saturday, Munster take on Glasgow in the final of the Pro 12 league at 7.30pm.
And then of course there is the ‘unmissable’ this weekend – The Irish Open. Paddy’s Point in La Zenia will be showing all the action from Royal County Down all weekend, starting from 9.30pm on Thursday. I love golf tournament days in the pub. The gradual build up. The relaxed feel of it all, the golfing crowd who call down and watch a couple of hours of it, leave for a while and wander back later to catch more of the action. And of course the anticipation of the final day, the chance of a play off and this year, the added excitement of the home support for Rory McIlroy. Very enjoyable altogether – and I am not even a golfer!
This week’s GAA fixtures sees a double header for the Dubs on Sunday who take on Galway in the hurling at 3pm and Longford in the football at 5pm. And if you fancy a bite to eat during any of the sporting action our full bar menu is served from 10am til 9.30pm daily.
Our live music continues seven nights a week for the summer with The Cages every Tuesday and Friday night, Bella Luna on Wednesdays, Paul Cullen on Thursdays, Showaddywaddy Legend on Sundays, acoustic night with Ali and Che on Mondays and this week we have trad group Bardoi on Saturday night with an entertaining mix of ballads, banter and craic!
Enjoy the week wherever you are folks, if you are around Paddy’s you are guaranteed there will be lots going on, whatever the time of day!
