Food Glorious Food! – this week’s news from Hazel at Paddy’s Point – Comaskey Properties

For those of you who don’t already know, earlier this year we extended our kitchen, in fact we almost tripled it in size by extending in to what used to be ‘La Zenia Fish and Chips’. And so far (thank God!) it is being put to very good use.

Breakfast starts at 10am, with the Paddy’s Point full Irish still the all time favourite, although recently we have seen our healthy options and more Spanish style ‘desayunos’ really increase in popularity. Breakfast runs into lunch and these days by as early as 1pm the terrace is often already full, whether it is a light bite you are after or something more substantial we have it covered as our full menu is available all day. Late afternoon normally sees the arrival of the beach goers, who stop off for a drink and maybe a snack on their stroll home after a day of sun, sea and sand. Which brings us up nicely to the ‘evening rush’! Maybe its the casual dining feel to the place or the fact that we have just about something for everyone on the menu but this time of year the terrace is invariably full again by about 8pm. So whatever takes your fancy, between the hours of 10am and 9.30pm we look forward to serving you good food, reasonably priced.
If you are planning a night out during the coming week then look no further! Our nightly entertainment features The Cages every Tuesday and Friday night, this week Bella Luna on Wednesday night, Paul Cullen on Thursday night, The Red Tops on Saturday night, Showaddywaddy Legend on Sunday night and an acoustic set with Ali and Che on Monday night. The music kicks off every night at about 10 pm.
For sports fanatics the final day of the Premiership season this Sunday is probably not as exciting as other years, unless you are watching the relegation battle. As usual we will be showing all the most important games on the day throughout the bar and outside on the terrace. Football fans may as well get in all they can this weekend as a ‘football free’ summer looms before us!
Rugby enthusiasts will be interested in the semi finals of this year’s pro 12 league. Glasgow play Ulster on Friday at 8.45pm and Munster play Ospreys at 3.30pm. And apologies to our Scottish and Welsh friends in advance but of course we are hoping for an all Irish final!
For GAA fans this year’s Championship is already heating up, this Sunday Cavan take on Monaghan at 2.30pm while Clare and Limerick go head to head in the hurling at 5pm. Both should be great games to watch.

That should be enough to keep us all busy for the week!
