A spot of deep sea fishing anyone?
If you are thinking of moving to Spain and you are wondering will there be enough to do once you retire… Fear not, the sea provides endless entertainment!

Ian and two friends recently set sail for the day out into the blue Mediterranean on a fishing excursion, no less!
“The nearest thing to fishing experience we had was a visit to Spud Murphy’s in Playa Flamenca a couple of Fridays back so this was very much a nervous departure from Torre De La Horadada Marina. We did not need to worry- Ramon our guide and captain took great care of us. He has been running Fishing Murcia very successfully for many years and it’s easy to see why it’s so popular.
Ramon provided the equipment, tackle and even a cooler of beer on ice. He literally did everything for us and told us when we had a bite and to “Reel in”. We caught a few fish, but it was the fun of the chase that was the best part”.
A full day costs 500 euro – all inclusive. Typically, Ramon likes to keep trips to around five fishermen, or pretend fishermen as in Ian’s case and it’s well worth it.
We booked this trip through Yvonne at La Zenia travel.
You can book direct here or if you prefer, give Claire a shout and she’ll arrange the booking for you.
