It´s starting to feel a lot like summer at Paddy´s Point, La Zenia – you can always tell it´s that time of
year again when the terrace is buzzing with people and activity pretty much any time of the day or
Live music every night kicks off at 10pm with the line up for the week ahead as follows:
Every Tuesday and Friday we have The Cages, every Wednesday Bella Luna, Thursday is Paul
Cullen´s night and every Sunday Showaddywaddy Legend take to the stage. This Saturday night (2nd
May) we have a new band playing for the first time at Paddy´s – Colt 45 are a four piece Spanish band,
playing rock and roll with their own original takes and twists. Have heard some great things about this
young, up and coming group, will let you know next week how Saturday´s crowd enjoy them!
Its also another busy sporting week with live football every night (except Thursday), Celtic play at
8.45pm on Friday, anyone interested in catching that one should probably get in early as all Celtic
games always get a great crowd. Saturday sees another bumper day of football with all premiership
games been shown throughout the afternoon on 14 different screens. To add to the banter and the craic
we run a ´soccer pick´ every Saturday – 10 different games for you to predict which team will win,
lose or draw and allocate points to each game. Believe me it´s not as easy as it seems. €5 to enter and
the pot gets shared between first, second and third. If you fancy your luck pick up a ´soccer pick´ from
bar staff any day throughout the week and submit it before 3.45pm on Saturday.
Without a doubt the most frequently asked question at this time of year is ´Are you showing the
GAA?´. Yes we are! If it is televised, we show it. Guaranteed – with a great atmosphere to go with it!
This week´s fixtures see Tipp take on Tyrone in the U21 Football Final on Saturday and Cork play
Waterford in The Hurling League Final on Sunday.
If you fancy a bite to eat our kitchen is open from 10am til 9.30 pm serving a full bar menu all day.
Friday is bacon and cabbage day (served in addition to regular menu) and the traditional Irish dish is
fast becoming a great favourite with people of so many nationalities in Paddy´s. Its great to see so
many different people trying it for the first time and loving it!
The buzz of summer also means the arrival of the summer staff! A few of the seasonal crew have
started already – keep an eye out for them, we have some familiar faces back from last year and a few
new faces too with some more on the way in the coming weeks! I am sure they will all greet you with
a warm welcome.
¡Hasta pronto!
