Whether you live here full time, rent a property, or perhaps are on holiday here on the Costa Blanca, there is often nothing more pleasurable than relaxing with a good book. Did you know that you can borrow books and DVDs from the Reading Point on the Orihuela Costa, in Cabo Roig?
The Reading Point – Orihuela Costa is situated at Lomas de Cabo Roig (near Aldi) Calle Cipres no. 21. It is run by a team of nine volunteers and the books are all donated by the locals.
The reading point has over 11,000 books. The collection is in English, German, Spanish and in other European languages such as French, Swedish and Flemish and many more. The books are divided into sections such as fiction, non-fiction, biography, sports, gardening in Spain, cooking and so on. The library also has a wide selection of travel magazines and DVDs. The reading point has hundreds of children’s books in its fully functional children’s library room. The children’s books are mainly in English and in Spanish.
Monday afternoon is Knit and Natter with the lovely volunteers. Everyone is welcome regardless if you are a beginner knitter or an advanced natter!
It is completely free to join; all you need to do is to give your personal details including NIE or passport and a phone number. Once you joined, you can borrow three books for two weeks.
If you would like to contribute to the collection your donations are welcome. At this stage volunteers are accepting all books and especially welcome hardback copies.
