We dealt with Sean and Angie who we never felt were trying to sell us anything. In fact, they spent most of the time giving us vital local knowledge rather than selling us a house. Even Mick, their recommended Irish/Geordie/Spanish builder had a vast amount of knowledge, (and experience) all of which helped us. We are the type of people who can tell in 30 seconds exactly who and what we are dealing with and we are delighted with our decision to purchase through them. They had a great selection of properties to show us, within our budget and in the areas we actually told them we wanted to be in.
We are unusual in that this is our second “deal” in Spain. A year ago we came here and tried to purchase a property through a different local Spanish estate agent. We paid our deposit and signed everything with the lawyer. Unfortunately, or as it turned out, luckily, the deal all fell apart. We are not sure whose fault it was but we felt that was the end of our dream to buy a villa in Spain.
Not long after, we read Ian Comaskey´s Amazon book on Spanish property “How to buy property in Spain”. The book was easy to read, short enough to be digestible, and split into non complicated sections. We wrote our “must have” list and our possible “compromise list” as Ian suggested and it worked. We found out dream home in Spain after all. The quote we liked most was when Ian advised buyers not to offer the asking price unless it was exceptional value. This was the first estate agent in Spain or the UK to suggest this. I loved the easy to follow tips (although some of Ian´s little stories went on a bit!!). We figured that he couldn’t make all this up and they must know what they were doing. In conjunction with the book and a sheer coincidence of a friend of ours recommending Spanish Solutions to us, we knew we had picked the right agents. We were determined not to do like so many British people who come to Spain and lose their heads in the heat. We were prepared, we had our list and we got exactly what we wanted. Sean and Angie were exceptionally helpful and very non pushy – Just what we liked.
We complete our purchase next month and rather than being worried we have full faith in the Comaskey and Spanish Solutions teams. Ian only had to buy us a bottle of coke to get us to write this! It was an absolute pleasure meeting and dealing with them.
