We are delighted to introduce the newest member of the Comaskey team – Peter Hassall. Peter joined the team earlier this year and comes to us with a wealth of real estate experience, having worked for a prominent estate agent here on the Costa Blanca for almost a decade. Originally from Stoke-On-Trent, Peter and his wife Susan began their own Spanish property journey 16 years ago when they bought a property on Las Ramblas golf course. After two years holidaying here, Peter and Susan decided to make the move and relocated here permanently 14 years ago when Peter began his career in real estate.
Peter’s background is delightfully varied. He took his first job at age 15 – in fact, on his 15th birthday he found himself on his first day working down in the mines! He trained as a mechanical engineer and spent many years designing custom made mining equipment (a nod to his early start in the coal mining industry) – work which took him all over the world where he trained miners in the Spain, the US, India, Africa, Australia and many other far flung places. When he decided to make a change from the mining industry, Peter changed career completely and moved into banking where he was divisional manager of HSBC’s insurance arm.
HSBC’s loss has been Spain’s gain however, as when Peter and Susan decided to move to Spain, he began work in the real estate sector and having joined the Comaskey team earlier this year, brings with him years of experience of property sales for happy clients.
Peter has a lovely relaxed manner and is keen to ensure that his clients end up with the right property for their needs. He is passionate about customer service (in fact, he told us that during his time working in real estate, he never once had a customer complain about him and had only received praise for his work there.) Peter is very knowledgeable about new builds here on the Costa Blanca and personally knows the key developers. This means that Peter is a goldmine of information when it comes to new builds on the coast. He said, “There is such good value to be had at the moment in new builds. Many developers are offering discounts, free air conditioning and even free private pools – I am in direct contact with the developers so it is great to be able to pass these benefits on to Comaskey clients.”
In his spare time, you will find Peter on Las Ramblas golf course, or at the weekends he embarks on epic cycling outings – thinking nothing of a 78 kilometre round trip on Sunday mornings. When he is not golfing or out on his bike, you might find Peter at the gym, or spending time with his wife Susan, with whom he has two grown up children, and an incredibly handsome grandson Jack, aged 10. Peter is an ardent Stoke City fan, and is known to his friends as ‘Stoke Pete’ but we won’t hold that against him!
Ian Comaskey said, “I am delighted to welcome Peter to the team. We have been looking for someone who shares our customer care ethos for some time and I am thrilled that we found Peter. He is passionate about doing right by his clients and finding them a good deal on a house that is right for them. What I like about Peter is that he is a normal guy, really approachable. You won’t get the hard sell from Peter – what you will get though, is a wealth of knowledge of the local property sector and a thoroughly decent guy.”
Peter deals with resale properties too, saying “Again there is some real value on the market at the moment. Just looking at what we have on our books at the moment is quite exciting as no matter what your criteria, we probably have a property to tick all your boxes. If we don’t have your perfect property, we will find it for you as we have some great partnerships with other estate agents on the coast.”
If you want to give Peter a call to find out about new builds, resales, cycling routes around La Pedrera lake, or how Stoke City got on this season, give him a call on 610 821 651 or email him at [email protected]
