We recently re-listed a stunning apartment and felt it was worth sharing in a blog post, such is the attractiveness of the property. We could talk for days about the layout, the luxury, only three apartments on the 6th floor – with two elevators, the massive roof terrace (I’ve played football on smaller sized pitches), and more. I’ve narrowed it to my three favourite features and here they are….
Location. Torrevieja is a quaint, sleepy Spanish fishing village located within 40 minutes’ drive of Murcia and Alicante airports. Its famous now as a tourist magnet, having first made world fame as an exporter of salt- the second largest in the world in fact. Currently Torrevieja exports salt to as far away as Canada to curb the harsh Canadian winters, while I’m sure you’ll still find a little of the salt in your food here. Speaking of food and Spanish restaurants Alingui, El Meson de la Costa and El Charro Negro are must visits. My personal favourite is actually the closest to La Valetta, Christopher’s- a charming little restaurant with a terrific value for money menu. Don’t let the size of the place fool you- its big on comfort, flavour and character.
Golf has become a huge industry now on the Costa Blanca. Las Colinas Golf and Country recently won the “Best resort in Spain” award at the prestigious World Travel Awards. Villamartin has hosted PGA events and names such as Miguel Angel Jimenez have been seen hitting balls in Marquesa, Quesada in 2016.
La Veleta is next to Torrevieja hospital, a new modern hospital which gave birth to three Comaskey children over the past 5 years! There is a brand-new Aldi, a Dial Prix supermarket, a new filling station, cafes, restaurants and the beautiful Torrevieja beach all just a short stroll from the property.
Costs versus benefit. Let’s start with what you are getting for your money. After all, in these days of economic uncertainty, value trumps everything, right? We have a 100m2 apartment built by the famous Euro Marina builders here in La Veleta, Torrevieja, Spain. A little under a year ago, this property was “Sold” privately to a Belgian buyer for 30,000 more than the owners are asking today. The View. It’s hard not to talk about the front-line views. We mention the apartment is 100m2 internally, but what we saved for last is the additional 10m2 of south facing sun trap terrace, accessible from both the lounge and the main bedroom. You probably must come and see for yourself to appreciate the tranquillity of the sea views from the kitchen, lounge, bedroom, and the terrace. The Torrevieja Marina bustles with life from the early morning s and you’ll see the fishing ships arrive back to shore, the boats teaming with fresh fish for the markets that day. Later in the morning, the leisure boats start to leave the newly refurbished marina- a different pace is now seen, there is no hurry when you are sailing! It’s so relaxing to watch the boats leave the port and you can do so form the comfort of this gorgeous property. At night, Torrevieja lights up – what a sight to have welcoming you as you enjoy your evening beverage of choice. The beach is a 100m away from the front door but the height of the apartment (6th floor) allows for these stunning views- my number 1 feature, amongst many of this must view (and probably must buy quickly) front line apartment in the heart of the Costa Blanca, Spain.
