Particular plaudits were given to the pristine course condition of the Cabell B. Robinson-designed layout managed by industry-leaders Troon Golf. “We’re thrilled to be returning to Las Colinas later this year,” commented Mike Stewart, tournament director of the European Tour. “The event was a resounding success last year and the players were rich in praise for what is an immaculately presented golf course. We’re looking forward to seeing how the course has developed since last year and welcoming some very talented players, who I’m sure will relish the challenge. The climate is also perfect for the time of year and the facilities throughout are some of the best we experience on Tour.” The qualifying school has a rich history of identifying future European Tour stars, with three-time 2012 European Tour winner Branden Grace advancing out of Q-School last year, alongside Dutchman Tim Sluiter, the eventual winner at Las Colinas Golf & Country Club last year.
OCCASSION
“We are delighted to have once again been chosen to host such an important event for so many aspiring young golfers,” noted Cristobal Guerrero, managing director at Las Colinas Golf & Country Club. “Last year was a fantastic success – not only for the players and European Tour officials, but also the local residents who came out in force to watch and support the competitors. We look forward to hosting another great occasion later this year.” Las Colinas has been specially designed to be enjoyed and shared for all occasions and is complemented by a wide range of sport, leisure, restaurant and accommodation options.
