IMPORTANT: TAXES CHANGES APPLIED FROM TODAY 6th August 2013
The Valencian region is applying from today (6th August) an increase in some taxes. The main changes are: PURCHASE TAX increase from 8% to 10% and STAMP DUTY TAX (for mortgage, new buildings, and others) increased from 1.2% to 1.5%.
THESE CHANGES WERE APPROVED TO BE CHANGED ALL OVER SPAIN BACK IN JANUARY, BUT THE VALENCIAN COMMUNITY DECIDED NOT TO APPLY THEM THEN AND LEAVE THEM FOR 2 YEARS WITH THE PREVIOUS RATES. NOW, DUE TO THE NEED OF MONEY BY THE GOVERNMENT, THEY HAVE CANCELLED THIS 2 YEAR GRACE PERIOD AND CHANGES ARE APPLIED FROM TODAY, AND IT HAS BEEN OFFICIALLY PUBLISHED.
