La Liga returned to our screens last month and we´ve already had a Messi screamer, 8 dropped points by Madrid, two Classicos and you´d imagine that’s enough to keep even the biggest critic happy. Not so… The self proclaimed best footballer in the world Madrid´s Ronaldo is sad. Seriously, he said that’s why he didn’t celebrate his couple of goals last week. He is sad. Not sad because he lives in Spain, no he loves it here. Not sad because he is poor – no he earns enough to buy a small country every 24 hours, not sad because he has become rubbish, he still scores goals but just “sad”. Response in Spain is fairly harsh.
The fans wonder is it because UEFA recently named Andres Iniesta their player of the year? (clearly they forgot about Christiano). Did he really want that move to Man City or does he no longer feel the love of his teammates and manager? There is no substance to the rumour that he asked his employers in Real Madrid to change the name on his shirt from Cristiano to simply “Christ”. We hope the poor little muffin is feeling better soon.
