Guest post by Mairead Sheehan, Costa Blanca November 2015.
It is with difficulty that I put pen to paper to try to limit my choice of good restaurants in the Costa Blanca area of Spain. For this post, I will limit it to the Villamartin, La Zenia, Cabo Roig and Playa Flamenca areas.
In Cabo Roig alone there are Mexican, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Irish, Italian, French, Spanish and Asian Fusion restaurants. Before purchasing our dream Spanish home from Comaskey Properties in 2014 with the help of Spanish Solutions legal team I was not a fan of Indian Food. My first meal at the ‘Balti Tower’ in Cabo Roig changed all that. The delicious flavour of their cooking combined with the good value set menus and the friendly demeanour of the staff had me converted very quickly. After two years here it is still one of my favourite places to eat.
Another lovely place for a good evening out is ‘Debassus Bar & Restaurant’ in La Zenia close to the La Zenia Boulevard in Mala Quita, La Zenia. This German bar carries a variety of draft German Beers one of which is called ‘Hell’ but in fact is closer to ‘heaven’ on a warm sunny evening. Their bratwurst, meter long sausage baguette with all the trimmings, Pork knuckle and cheese board are delicious, suitable for all palates.
Another hidden gem on the Costa Blanca is the Spanish restaurant ‘Molinos’ situated just off the La Zenia roundabout towards La Zenia Beach. With a huge terrace and friendly Spanish staff the atmosphere in this place is very relaxing. It is typically Spanish with a large variety of delicious tapas on offer. The feeling is of laid back simplicity.
Over at Playa Flamenca just above the beach is another lovely restaurant ‘Surfers Bar & Grill’. From the shaded terrace you can look straight out to sea and enjoy the soft rolling of the Mediterranean and the shrieks of holidaymakers enjoying themselves a little further off on the beach. Cool beers, Iced cocktails, a pool table inside and simple salads, chicken dishes are amongst the tempting offers.
Thanks Mairead for your contribution.
If you’d like to speak to Mairead before making the move to Spain yourself, she is always happy to speak to people in exchange for a free coffee!! Let us know here and we’ll set it up. We just hope she continues to say nice things about us at Comaskey Properties.
